Siargao is a tropical island with conference mornings, outdoor adventures, beach social time, and genuine work sessions. Pack accordingly.

For the ocean and outdoors

🌊 Ocean essentials

  • Swimwear (2–3 sets) — surfing, swimming, island hopping. Quick-dry fabric helps.
  • Reef-safe sunscreen — no oxybenzone or octinoxate. Bring more than you think.
  • Rash guard — sun protection and board rash coverage for surfing.
  • Water sandals or reef shoes — rocky reef entry and uneven beach terrain.
  • Sunglasses and hat — October sun is strong. Non-optional.
  • Insect repellent — essential for mosquito-active evenings.

For work sessions

Laptop and all chargers. NIP has coworking space — plan around the setup we cover in the truth about internet and coworking in Siargao. Portable battery bank for full island days. Noise-canceling headphones for focused work. Notebook or journal — there's a lot of good thinking that happens at NIP.

For conference and social activities

Light, breathable, smart-casual clothing. No suits. One slightly nicer outfit for welcome and farewell parties. A light cardigan for air-conditioned morning sessions. Comfortable sandals and walking shoes for sand, concrete, and uneven streets.

For health, comfort, and logistics

✓ Pack these

  • Personal medications (pharmacy options are limited)
  • Antihistamines and stomach medication
  • First aid basics — antiseptic, blister plasters
  • Seasickness meds if prone to motion sickness
  • Cash in PHP — ATMs can run low on weekends
  • Globe SIM or plan to buy at Manila/Cebu airport
  • Travel insurance confirmation

! Leave at home

  • Anything you'd hate to lose to sand or saltwater
  • Heavy hardshell luggage — duffel or medium backpack works better
  • Too many "just in case" clothes — laundry is cheap on-island
  • Pristine white sneakers — Siargao is a beach environment

What attendees say about the experience

A taste of what you're packing for.

"This has had the biggest, most beautiful community feeling that I've met… Filipinos are very friendly and warm by nature, and being on an island has rubbed off on everyone else. Everyone has been ultra friendly, welcoming. It's been a blast."
Payman Lorenzo

Podcast host & mentor · NIP attendee

"Everyone was so chill… I get to talk with a lot of like-minded people in business, but it doesn't feel transactional at all. Everyone was just social."

"We are a remote staffing agency… it's really to learn, connect, and you get to take away and learn something from them."
