A 30-second pitch (also called an elevator pitch) is a brief, compelling description of an idea, product, or yourself that can be delivered in about the time it takes to ride an elevator – roughly 30 seconds. It’s meant to grab attention and communicate key points quickly.
Think of it as your “highlight reel” that answers three basic questions:
For example, if you’re at a networking event, you might need to introduce yourself to a potential employer in just a few moments. Or if you’re an entrepreneur, you might run into an investor and need to quickly explain your business idea.
The key is being clear, concise, and interesting enough that the person wants to continue the conversation. You don’t need to share everything – just enough to spark interest.
